Loud and Clear Printing was formed as an idea sometime in 2004 when two logical people put their heads together. Doug Elkins and Emily Whitehurst, co-founders, were both involved with an internationally touring band that ordered a lot of merchandise. Doug and Emily were a big part of this process, dealing with orders, quantities, designs and sales. Through much thought and discussion, they came to a few key realizations which they agreed upon:
- Creating a web store for a small band's site is expensive.
- From a band's perspective, running your own mail order while you're out on tour is pretty much impossible.
- Printing artwork onto t-shirts seems like fun.
And thus the two traded their belongings for a 6-station Workhorse, lucked out with a great shop in northern California, and Loud and Clear Printing was born! With a name inspired by a Smiths lyric, this company is primed for printing band merchandise and for providing a simple way to distribute it to the world.
